Toray Membrane Europe AG, a company of Toray Industries Japan, is the parent company of ROPUR AG, an engineering firm established in Switzerland in 1983 who pioneered the development of the anti-scaling chemicals in the field of reverse osmosis technology.

ROPUR RPI® Ant-scalants are products specifically designed to assist in the operation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment systems and allow them to operate safely and with maximum efficiency.

ROPUR RPI® products comply with the most demanding requirements for water treatment chemicals.   Products intended for food industry and drinking water applications are certified according to NSF and KIWA standards.

ROPUR RPI® Anti-scalants are designed to optimize RO plant performance. Application of these products is recommended by water treatment equipment manufacturers, water treatment companies as well as end users, for the following reasons:

In our country the most commonly used products are:

RPI-3000A – Broad spectrum anti-scalant for use in high scaling tendency waters

RPI-3000A is specially designed to inhibit the formation of scale in RO-systems equipped with polyamide-, cellulose acetate- and polyether membranes with an anionic charged surfaces.

RPI-3000A also has excellent dispersing properties.

RPI-3000A is highly effective against calcium sulphate, calcium & magnesium carbonate and calcium fluoride scaling. A further advantage is the superior stabilization of iron oxides in water and inhibition of oxidation properties of some salts, e.g. manganese.  

RPI-4000A – Broad spectrum. Premium scavenger of metal cations.

RPI-4000A is specially designed to inhibit scale formation in RO-systems equipped with polyamide-, cellulose acetate- and polyether membranes with anionic charged surfaces.

RPI-4000A displays a high crystal growth threshold value, preventing scale crystal formation.

RPI-4000A inhibits formation of calcium sulphate and fluoride scales.

RPI-4000A ideal for waters containing carbonate and sulphate salts and/or with high levels of barium/strontium salts.

RPI-4000A bonds with metals such as iron, manganese, copper and aluminium.

RPI-4500A – anti-scalant for high hardness waters & waters containing high levels of silica, barium and strontium

RPI-4500A is specially designed to inhibit scale formation in RO-systems equipped with polyamide-, cellulose acetate- and polyether membranes with anionic charged surfaces.

RPI-4500A is most effective against calcium, sulphate, strontium and barium scales.

RPI-4500A effectively prevents formation of calcium carbonate scale and silicate scale.

RPI-5000A –anti-scalant for high silica & low hardness level

RPI-5000A is designed and approved as a highly efficient scale inhibitor for use with cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes with anionic charged surfaces.

RPI-5000A is a stabilized blend of polymers and copolymers suitable for use

within a broad of pH ranges.

RPI-5000A it is the most effective inhibitor against colloidal and dissolved SiO2 and prevents deposition on membrane surfaces.

The allowable silica content in the RO-concentrate stream can be as high as 260 – 300 mg/l.
